Funding available for improving the energy efficiency of your property: The ‘Green Deal’
22 Oct 2013 Schroder 0
The government launched the ‘Green Deal’ scheme some time ago. It is a scheme where the house owner does not have to pay for these improvements upfront. In principle, the energy provider takes over these costs. The homeowner repays via the energy bill: It will roughly stay the same although less energy is used after the improvements. Another positive feature of this scheme is that the ‘repayments’ stay with the property when the house owner sells it. The advantages for the new homeowners are:
- The building work is already done.
- They only pay a fraction of the actual improvement costs.
- They get a more energy efficient property.
